Homes For Our Troops

Homes for Our Troops is a national non-profit, non-partisan 501(c)(3) organization founded in 2004. They “are strongly committed to helping those who have selflessly given to our country and have returned home with serious disabilities and injuries since September 11, 2001. It is our duty and our honor to assist severely injured Servicemen and Servicewomen and their immediate families by raising donations of money, building materials and professional labor and to coordinate the process of building a home that provides maximum freedom of movement and the ability to live more independently.”

Have you heard of this group?  I hadn’t till I listened to Alan Anderson announce the fund raising efforts to furnish this new home at a BRAG (Builder Realtor Alliance Group) Breakfast meeting on March 16, 2012.

I think it’s so important that the community at large knows of these volunteers and professionals in the real estate profession.  How often have you heard our profession smeared and referred to with disdain?  Our reputation needs serious repair so I am taking this opportunity to share a truly good thing our professionals are involved in.  Realtors and builders in the Sarasota area and many other areas are active with Habitat for Humanity and other causes that meet the needs of many.

Watch the video brought to you by Sarasota Suze the owner of the site that can provide you with more information about Sarasota and also give you the ability to do a real-time search for properties for sale in Sarasota, Florida.
