Second quarter market data gathered by National Association of Realtors and analyzed by HSH.com reported by Libby Kane of Business Insider, shows 12 metro areas of the US and the salary required to buy a median priced home. Property taxes and insurance costs can skew the cost of an individual property and were considered in the calculation. One’s debt situation has to be considered in addition as a personal debt ratio of more than 8% will increase the salary needed to qualify.
