Day of Hope in Sarasota, Fla.

Sarasota, Florida is more than just beautiful sandy beaches and a lifestyle hard to beat.

Our community has so many volunteers with big hearts that want to give back to the community that they appreciate.  This is the second year for The Day of Hope that was started by a parishioner at The Church of The Redeemer.  Her vision was to provide services to the underprivileged families in Sarasota that have been hit by hard times and may have trouble getting their kids off to a good start in school.  Families brought their children for a day of food, fun, and various exams that are required for the entrance to school.  Volunteer Doctors, Dentists, Audiologists, hairdressers, and a photographer to take a family photo they may have never had spent the day giving their time and expertise to many families with children.

This is just one of the reasons Sarasota, Florida is such a special place to live.

Watch the video for a real treat to touch your heart.

  1. Thanks for sharing Susan The Day of Hope. They also received gift cards that bought several uniforms and clothes for school. Taking a family photo is a great idea and Chantal was so happy to be able to bring her children here again this year, A special thank you to all the volunteers and sponsors! This is a wonderful event!
